Nearly 300 new members of the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) were formally inducted during a ceremony in Vicksburg Tuesday.

Held at the Massenburg Memorial Athletic Center, the event marked the completion of the new inductees’ initial training. The new members, aged 18 to 26, will begin their service with both the Traditional Corps and FEMA Corps programs, taking on various short-term projects across the country in areas such as disaster response, infrastructure improvement, and environmental conservation.

Following the ceremony, 18 Traditional Corps teams began 31 projects in 13 states, including Mississippi, while 15 FEMA Corps teams began their disaster response assignments across 10 states.
