P.L. Hennessey wrote R.J. Burnett about the wonders of Venice. • Kittye and Mary Ellen Butts returned from visiting the Gulf Coast. • Clarence Saunders planned to open a store in Vicksburg with John Hadad as manager.

Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Hackett celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. • Mr. and Mrs. Charles Calhoun and their children left for their home in Houston. • Lane Hill returned from Yazoo City.

Leo Kline died. • Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Tanner were vacationing on the Gulf Coast. • Capt. and Mrs. Joe Tiffany and their daughter returned from a visit to Florida.

Lt. Stuart McCloskey Jr. completed the prescribed course of instruction in Air Training Command and was at Camp Kilmer, N.J. • Sue Sanders was visiting her aunt, Ruth Faulk, in Biloxi. • Mr. and Mrs. D.B. Moorehead were honored with a reception for their 50th anniversary.

Dr. William Jaquith spoke to the Warren County Mental Health Association. • W.T. Oakes, a Tallulah resident, died. • Services were held for Tallulah resident Helen Erwin.

Anna Louise Bullard was one of 38 University of Mississippi School of Law students who earned a juris doctorate degree during graduation. • Football drills began at St. Aloyisus. • Mary Wessinger and Doris Thomason completed training as medical laboratory technicians at the V.A. in Jackson.
