Lady Flashes storm past ACCS on the soccer pitch

This time, St. Aloysius’ girls’ soccer team didn’t need a last-minute miracle to beat Adams County Christian School.

Samantha Edwards scored two of St. Al’s three goals in the second half, and the Lady Flashes beat ACCS 4-1 Tuesday at Farrell Stadium/Balzli Field.

The teams tied 1-1 last week in Natchez when St. Al scored in the last two minutes.

Frances Ferrell scored on a penalty kick in the 22nd minute for the Lady Flashes, and then Edwards scored on another PK and a corner kick in the second half. Mary Ruth Montgomery had their other goal, off an assist from Elle Larson.

St. Al (3-2-1) will continue its non-district schedule next week, when it plays Brookhaven Academy at home on Aug. 27 at 5:30 p.m.
