Florence Sims left for Flora. • Cassie Jewell went to Winona to visit with friends and relatives. • John Hermann made a brief visit to Natchez.

Mrs. G.W. Ford and her family returned from Mobile and would again make Vicksburg their home. • Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Allen returned from a visit to Chicago. • Frank Muirhead, who had been ill, was reported as improved.

Dr. Guy Jarrett and his sons left for a vacation trip to Chicago. • James M. Stigell, a prominent Rolling Fork planter, died. • George Chaney was elected city judge, succeeding Judge P.C. Canizaro.

James B. Livingston was named administrator of public relations for International Paper Company’s Vicksburg Mill. • Carolyn Marie Skinner received the Alexander Farrar Watkins Award from Millsaps College. • The Vicksburg Band Parents Club built a new concession stand at the Vicksburg Stadium. • Olive Jarvis died.
