Prentiss Thomas Ross, a Vicksburg resident, passed away on Thursday, August 15 in the University Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was 67. He was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lieutenant Ross, Sr, and mother Naomi Pruitt Ross, his brothers Eugene Palmer and Willie Ross.

He is survived by his wife Doreather Ross of Vicksburg; his two sons Shannon Jordan and Derrick Jordan, both of Vicksburg; his daughter-in-law Neshia Jordan; his brothers Lieutenant Ross, Jr., Larry Charles Ross, Larry Donnell Ross and Tony Ross; his sisters Joni Dixon, Lena Ballard, Beatrice Ross, Bonnie Ross, Betty Ann Calvin, Betty Jean Sara Ross and Kathlean Coleman; 12 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and others.

Funeral services for Prentiss Thomas Ross are to be held on Sunday, August 25 in the Chapel of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Reverend Larry Donnell Ross officiating. Interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
