The City of Tallulah has experienced a loss of pressure due to the failure of an emergency diesel pump, city officials said Thursday morning.
“The pump has been repaired and although complete water loss was avoided, the City of Tallulah water customers will be under a boil advisory until samples have been cleared by the state,” city spokesperson Yvonne Lewis explained in an email. “The city will be under a boil alert when water is re-established. Citizens should boil water, at a rapid boil, for two minutes before use.
The city will continue to update during this water crisis.”
Schools in Madison Parish have also closed for the day due to the water problems. Closures include both the Madison Parish School District, which encompasses all public schools, and Tallulah Academy/Delta Christian School.
