A weekly recap of performances by college football players from Vicksburg-area high schools:

• Nicholls State defensive back Laurence Sullivan Jr. (Vicksburg High) had three total tackles and blocked a PAT attempt in a 25-17 loss to Louisiana Tech.

• West Alabama defensive back Lamar Gray (Warren Central) had two solo tackles and one tackle for loss in a 16-15 victory over Miles College.

• South Alabama offensive lineman Reed Buys (Warren Central) started at right guard in a 52-38 loss to North Texas. South Alabama had 582 yards of total offense.

• Troy linebacker T.J. Thompson (Warren Central) played, but did not record a tackle, in a 28-26 loss to Nevada.

• Southern University kicker Joshua Griffin (Warren Central) made his only PAT attempt and had a 31-yard field goal try blocked in a 21-7 loss to McNeese State. Griffin also had one solo tackle.

• Alabama State kicker Brandon Gilliam (Warren Central) kicked off five times in a 31-24 loss to North Carolina Central.

• Southern Miss defensive back Jordan Johnson (South Delta) had two solo tackles in a 31-0 loss to Kentucky.

• Georgia State defensive back Jeremiah Johnson (South Delta) had three solo tackles in a 35-12 loss to Georgia Tech.
