Warren Central volleyball beats St. Al for ninth win in 10 matches

Warren Central’s volleyball team took a break from its region schedule, but not from winning.

The Lady Vikes served 28 aces and totaled 25 kills as they defeated St. Aloysius 3-0 (25-8, 25-19, 25-9) on Tuesday for their ninth win in 10 matches.

Melissa Herrle led the way with 12 aces and seven kills. Arrionna Jenkins added six kills, while K.K. Kelly had four kills and eight assists.

Nine players served aces for Warren Central (12-7-1).

“The offense was working hard to generate points tonight, and Melissa and K.K. did a great job of spreading the ball around,” Warren Central coach Matthew Gullett said.

Camille Jeffers had two kills for St. Al, and Harper Hill and Melanie Nunez had one each.

Warren Central will play Thursday, on the road at Riverside at 6:15 p.m.

St. Al plays at home against Madison-St. Joseph on Thursday. The middle school match is at 4 p.m., junior varsity at 5, and varsity at 6.

Warren Central also beat St. Al in the junior varsity match on Tuesday, 2-0 (25-18, 25-8). Piper Keyes scored six points for St. Al.
