Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said his office is investigating what appears to have been a murder-suicide Wednesday afternoon that resulted in two deaths.
Pace said Warren County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the report of a shooting in the 2500 block of Warriors Trail Wednesday just after 1:30 p.m. and found a male and female dead of apparent gunshot wounds.
“When deputies arrived on the scene, they found an adult male and an adult female near the back porch of the home. Both were obviously deceased,” Pace said. “The female had suffered from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. The male had suffered what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the head.”
Pace said the investigation is ongoing, but authorities are not expecting to make further arrests.
“We did recover a weapon. The two had been in an off-and-on relationship and, at this time, everything points to this being a murder-suicide,” he said. “There is no indication at this time that anyone else was involved or that it poses any danger to the community.”
Pace said names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
