JoAnn Heigle Simmons passed away Wednesday, September 4, at her home. She was 79.

JoAnn was born February 2, 1945, the daughter of William Thomas Ballard and Leola Cole Ballard.  She served as Issaquena County Tax Assessor for more than 20 years.  She loved her children and grandchildren and was loved by all.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Steven Lee Heigle and Roger Keith Heigle; daughter, Misty LeaAnn Heigle; and grandson, Steven Keith Heigle.

She is survived by her daughter, Konny Heigle of Mayersville, Miss.; son, Brad Heigle (Jerri Beth) of Glen Allan, Miss.; grandchildren, Jacob Boyd (Aimee), Caleb Joiner (Brooke), Weston Joiner (Chelsea), Cole Heigle (Anna), Caitlyn Heigle, Logan Heigle, John Hayden and Lillie Beth Heigle; and great-grandchildren, Madison Heigle, Ty Heigle and Emerson Lee Joiner.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 7, at County Line Cemetery in Glen Allan.
