Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) is searching for the suspect who led officers and deputies with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office on a car chase through Vicksburg Wednesday.

“A Vicksburg police officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a gray 2016 Chevrolet sedan on Indiana Avenue near South Frontage Road,” VPD officials said. “The vehicle refused to stop. Vicksburg police officers and Warren County Sheriff’s Office deputies pursued it to a location on Gibson Road. The suspect driver bailed out of the car at that point and fled on foot into a wooded area. Although officers searched for several minutes, they were unable to locate the suspect. The Chevrolet was towed away.”

VPD said the case remains under investigation and anyone with any information about the suspect is asked to call the police department at 601-636-2511 or the sheriff’s office at 601-636-1761.
