Lady Vikes win two matches at home volleyball tournament

Warren Central’s volleyball team avenged a loss and padded its win total at its home round robin tournament on Saturday.

The Lady Vikes beat Pisgah 2-0 (25-21, 27-25) to avenge a loss from earlier this season. Melissa Herrle had six kills, nine assists and 13 defensive digs.

K.K. Kelly and Arrionna Jenkins added five kills apiece.

In the second match, Ellie Tennison served five aces as Warren Central beat Pillow Academy 2-1 (25-19, 20-25, 15-8).
Herrle had seven kills, and Ka’ryn Henderson added four kills and two blocks.

Warren Central (15-7-1) has won 12 of its last 13 matches. It will play two Region 2-6A opponents this week, Monday at home against Ridgeland and Thursday at Columbus. Both varsity matches will begin at 6 p.m.

“We played great team ball today with outstanding hustle against two solid teams. Great to pick up four wins this week,” Warren Central coach Matthew Gullett said.
