The Louisiana State Police (LSP) is aiding the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office (MPSO) in investigating a homicide that took place early Sunday morning in Tallulah.

“At approximately 1:50 a.m., Louisiana State Police/CID/Detectives-Monroe Field Office (LSP MFO) were requested by the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office to investigate a homicide that occurred inside the city limits of Tallulah,” Ryan Davis with LSP’s Public Affairs office said Sunday afternoon. “The preliminary investigation revealed that a shooting occurred in the 200 block of Thomas Street, which resulted in the death of one subject.”

Davis said LSP will serve as the lead investigating agency in the homicide, with MPSO assisting. The investigation is active and ongoing, but has not yet yielded any arrests.
