Knight, nicknamed “Uno” for his current uniform No. 1, had an outstanding individual performance in Vicksburg’s 28-23 loss to Forest Hill on Sept. 6.

The senior running back rushed for 169 yards and a touchdown, and returned a kickoff 75 yards for another TD. In two games this season, Knight already has 299 rushing yards. He has 2,196 yards and 25 touchdowns in four varsity seasons.

Knight also won the very first Athlete of the Week award in September 2022, making him one of five Warren County athletes to earn the honor twice.

Congratulations to DeCorey and the other nominees, and thank you to our readers for voting.

The nominees for the Athlete of the Week award are announced each Sunday, and voting is open until midnight Tuesday. Links to the poll will be posted on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter/X pages, as well as vicksburgpost.com.
