ARLINGTON, Texas — For the second week in a row, the New Orleans Saints looked like the best team in the NFL.

Running back Alvin Kamara scored four touchdowns and quarterback Derek Carr was nearly perfect passing as the Saints crushed the Dallas Cowboys 44-19 on Sunday.

It was the second straight dominating victory for the Saints, who opened the season last week by beating Carolina 47-10. They scored on their first 15 possessions across the two games before Carr threw an interception early in the fourth quarter to end the streak.

New Orleans finished with 432 yards and scored at least 40 points in consecutive games for the first time since 2018.

Kamara, the Saints’ all-time leader in touchdowns, had four Sunday — three rushing and one receiving on a 57-yard screen pass. He had 20 carries for 115 yards and two receptions for 65 yards. Kamara is the only player in Saints history to score four touchdowns in a game twice.

Carr completed his first five passes of the game, which included a 70-yard strike to Rashid Shaheed for a touchdown and the screen pass TD to Kamara. Carr added a 1-yard quarterback sneak for a touchdown and finished 11-of-16 passing for 243 yards, and a quarterback rating of 125.

Shaheed had four receptions for 96 yards while Chris Olave added four catches for 81.

Carr’s quarterback sneak touchdown with 39 seconds left in the first half gave the Saints a 35-13 lead.

The Cowboys (1-1) had a 16-game regular-season home winning streak snapped with the blowout loss. They also lost to Green Bay in the playoffs to end last season.

Former Mississippi State star Dak Prescott was 27-of-39 passing for 293 yards and a touchdown, but threw two interceptions and was sacked three times.

The Cowboys did not have a running play longer than eight yards.

The Saints are back at home in the Superdome next Sunday, at noon against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Cowboys are also at home, against the Baltimore Ravens at 3:25 p.m.
