Waring Oil Company, LLC of Vicksburg has announced it has acquired the commercial fuel division of Lavigne Oil Company, LLC of Baton Rouge.
The acquisition took effect Aug. 26.
Waring Oil is a supplier of wholesale fuels, lubricants, and greases as well as specialty lubes and diesel exhaust fluid.
Waring Oil co-owner Howard Waring said the biggest change brought on by the acquisition will be the company’s increased presence in Louisiana.
According to a letter from both Waring and Lavigne oil companies to customers explaining the acquisition, the change “represents an expanded versatility, increased expertise, and similar foundation; all of which allow Waring to provide its valued clientele with greater capabilities and expanded business solutions. This acquisition will also broaden the range of services offered and enlarge Waring’s geographic footprint across Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, and now Louisiana.”
Waring said that the company is excited about the acquisition.
“I think it’s going to be a good thing down the road, we just have to grow into it,” he said.
