Clyde Howard Strong

Clyde Howard Strong passed away at his home Saturday, Sept. 14, at the age of 66.
Clyde was born in Vicksburg July 14, 1958, the son of Jurewell B. and Beatrice Strong. He graduated from Rebul Academy, where he excelled at football. He began his 50-year career as a small engine mechanic at the age of 17 at Strong’s and then Katz Brothers. He was known by everyone. Anywhere he went he ran into someone he knew. He loved being outside in his garden and helping others. He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Deborah Ellis Strong; son, Joseph Strong; daughter, Amy Williams; brother, Mark Strong (Teresa); sisters-in-law, Dianne Patareau (Richard), Kim Allred (Mike) and Susie Vinzant (Ben); grandchildren, Avacyn Ballard, Jordan Williams and Erin Williams Dennis; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Utica Baptist Church. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Rocky Henriques. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of the service.
