Funeral services for James B. “Blue” Ross are to be held on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dellie C. Robinson officiating. Interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.

James B. “Blue” Ross, a Vicksburg resident, passed away Sunday, Sept. 22, in the Merit Health River Region Medical Center following a brief illness. He was 83. He worked for the City of Vicksburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Mary Robinson Ross; his brothers, Sam Ross Jr., Richard Ross and Robert Ross; and his sister, Annie Workman.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ross; his sons, Jonathan Ross, of Vancouver, Wash., James Rossi Jr., Nathan Rankin and Eric Doss, all of Vicksburg; his daughters, Tammy Ross and Carla Ross, of Portland, Oreg.; his sister, Dorothy Sherrod, of Southaven, Mich.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and others.
