Funeral services for Thelma Jean Perkins are to be held Saturday, Oct. 5, in the City Light Church, 520 Depot St., at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Brian Crawford officiating. Interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, in the funeral home.
Thelma Jean Perkins, a Vicksburg resident, passed away Sunday, Sept. 22, following a brief illness. She was 78. She worked at Waterways Experiment Station as an administrative chief and was a member of the City Light Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Katie Lee Wolley Harris; her daughter, Toronda Perkins; a brother, Clarence Harris Jr.; and sister, Lucy Moses.
She is survived by her sons, Clarnce Perkins and James Perkins, both of Vicksburg; her daughter, Latosica Ash of Vicksburg; her sister, Connie Cooper of Ellisville, Miss.; and her grandchildren, Brandy Perkins, of Dallas, and Candi Crawford, of Vicksburg; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
