Missy Gators face must-win situation to reach volleyball playoffs

Vicksburg High’s volleyball team is not in the playoffs yet, but with one game left in the regular season it might as well be.

The Missy Gators lost 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-20) to Ridgeland on Tuesday to set up a showdown with Callaway on Wednesday for the fourth and final playoff berth from MHSAA Region 2-6A.

Callaway beat Vicksburg 3-2 on Sept. 19, so the Missy Gators need to win Wednesday’s rematch in Jackson and have a tiebreaker work out in their favor to take the spot. The match will begin at 6 p.m.
