Mrs. S.E. Anderson was improving following an illness. • Aaron Orbach was ill. • Helen Kestenbaum was home after a trip to New York.

Charles Wyly died in Lake Providence, La. • Frank Bedford returned from Natchez. • Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Thames were visiting New Orleans.

Frank Andrews Jr. was named chairman of the Warren County fundraising appeal for the fight against polio. • Lt. Clarence Kestenbaum was in Vicksburg from New York City.
70 YEARS AGO: 1954
Services were held for John Cowan Jr., who died in Arlington, Calif. • Mrs. David Smith was visiting her husband, who was stationed at Camp Gordon in Augusta, Ga.
60 YEARS AGO: 1964
Mary Elizabeth Flood died. • Services were held for Mrs. Golena Dickson. • The Greenies defeated Natchez 20-18.

Four Warren County residents filed a class action suit challenging the annexation law. • U.S. Air Force Maj. Chester W. Griffin Jr. attended the Armed Forces Staff College at Norfolk, Va.
