The steamer President gave an excursion in Vicksburg.

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Abraham. • Evelyn Salters was in Vicksburg from Washington visiting her parents.

Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Landrum and children moved into their new home in the Wildwood subdivision. • Services were held for John Cowan Jr.

The 18th annual Miss-Lou Fair opened in Vicksburg. • Mrs. Jamie McCarthy died. • Robert Goulet starred in “I’d Rather Be Rich” at the Joy Theater.

Mr. and Mrs. M.J. Gallagher returned from a trip through the Southwest. • Mrs. Waverly Artz, president of the Vicksburg Warren County United Givers Fund, spoke to the Rotary Club.
