100 YEARS AGO: 1924

E.M. Clarke, secretary and treasurer of the Saenger Amusement Co., is in the city. •  J.J. Williamson, who has been ill, is able to be out. •  Clarence Saunders will be here for the opening of the local store bearing his name.

Lt. Lyman Coker is killed in action in France.

Mrs. H.L. Van Valkenburg is visiting in Whitwell, Tenn.

Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy B. Walker are vacationing at Gatlinburg, Tenn.

Clarke E. Robbins dies.

30 YEARS AGO: 1994

James E. Winfield of Vicksburg is awarded a James Oliver Eastland Scholarship in Law at the University of Mississippi School of Law.

20 YEARS AGO: 2004

Two Vicksburg men face charges related to the manufacture of crystal methamphetamine, and one is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

10 YEARS AGO: 2014

The Vicksburg Warren School District maintained a D rating, scoring 514 points out of 900. •  A Vicksburg woman was charged with grand larceny in the reported theft of a diamond ring valued at $1,300 from a home.
