John M. Tully, president of Anderson-Tully Company, is named Outstanding Lumberman of the Year at the annual Loggers Luncheon in Memphis.

Lee Barber, owner of Lee’s Body Shop, has broken glass replaced in his shop, which was shattered by high winds and heavy rains during a storm.

30 YEARS AGO: 1994

Henrietta Hall dies at the age of 104. •  Reece Liewellyn Wilber celebrates his first birthday.

29 engineers from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers districts across the country are in Vicksburg to learn better ways to tame erosion around rivers.
