No one was injured when a vacant home located at 902 Hillcrest St. caught fire just after midnight Monday, according to Vicksburg Fire Chief Derrick Stamps.

Stamps said the Vicksburg Fire Department quickly responded to the early morning call at 12:15 a.m.

“Upon arrival, the building was fully engulfed in flames,” Stamps said. “The crew efficiently extinguished the fire using a defensive attack. The structure was reported to be vacant and no injuries were reported.”
