Voting is open in The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week contest.

This week’s nominees are all football players — Ronnie Blossom (Warren Central), Henry Slayton (Porter’s Chapel), Thompson Fortenberry (St. Aloysius), and Mincer Minor (Vicksburg High).

Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline.

Henry Slayton, a senior linebacker with Porter’s Chapel Academy’s football team, had nine tackles, two tackles for loss and two sacks in a 42-36 overtime victory against Wilkinson County Christian on Oct. 18.

Ronnie Blossom, a senior defensive end with Warren Central’s football team, had two sacks in a 21-13 win over Vicksburg on Oct. 18. WC’s defense held Vicksburg to 59 total yards.

Thompson Fortenberry, a senior running back with St. Aloysius’ football team, rushed for 200 yards and three touchdowns in a 28-7 win over Manchester Academy on Oct. 18.

Mincer Minor, a senior defensive back with Vicksburg High’s football team, had a 60-yard interception return for a touchdown in a 21-13 loss to Warren Central on Oct. 18.

Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline. The Athlete of the Week will be announced Wednesday on vicksburgpost.com and then be featured in our Friday print edition.
