Redwood woman killed in motorcycle crash

A Redwood woman was killed Wednesday in a motorcycle crash in Hinds County that also injured the bike’s driver.
According to information from the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), 24-year-old Desiree Owens was killed when the motorcycle she was a passenger on ran off the road on Interstate 20 and collided with a cable barrier.
MHP said the accident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on I-20 West, near the 28-mile marker.
The driver of the 2022 Harley Davidson, 27-year-old William Owens III, also of Redwood, was injured and transported to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. MHP said the extent of his injuries is unknown. Desiree Owens was pronounced deceased on the scene.
This crash remains under investigation by MHP.
