Col. L.G. Heider left for D.C. on Vicksburg National Military Park business. • Mrs. Mary Estelle-Partee Luckett died.

Dr. Howard C. Sevier, of Tallulah, died.

Mrs. John R. Wallace was in Vicksburg from Memphis visiting Mrs. Fred Young.

30 YEARS AGO: 1994

A break in an ammonia line serving the old air-conditioning system in the Vicksburg Police Department forced around 20 employees from their offices for more than an hour. 

20 YEARS AGO: 2004

The Vicksburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted to enter into a deal allowing the city to install approximately 23 5×2 ½-foot banners.

10 YEARS AGO: 2014

Warren Central fell to Clinton by a final score of 14-13 after the Vikings missed an extra-point attempt in a heartbreaker on the gridiron.
