Giants win Monroe tournament
The Small Town Giants 9U baseball team won the Twin City Slugfest tournament in Monroe, Louisiana, Oct. 26-27.

Team members are AJ Reeves, Adam Harrison, Kai Tillman, Bryson Herrington, Carter Lindsey, Garret Hudson, Easton Grantham, Austin Malone, Jakob Ross and Weston Bockman. The team is coached by Corey Hudson, Blake Ross and Karl Minor.

Titans win two
The Port Gibson Titans youth football team won two of its three games against the Fayette Bobcats at the Backyard Brawl event Oct. 19.

The Titans’ C-Team (5-8-year-olds) won 20-14. Antwan Reed Jr. and Aiden Lucas scored touchdowns for the Titans.
The Titans’ B-Team (9-10-year-olds) beat the Bobcats 14-0 Kingston Neal and Sidney Ryals each scored a touchdown.
The Bobcats won the A-Team (11-12-year-olds) game 24-0.

The Titans have also qualified for the Turkey Bowl for the second year in a row. All three Titans teams will play in the tournament on Saturday, Nov. 16, at South Pike High School in Magnolia. Games begin at 9 a.m. and tickets are $7.

Reindeer Run 5K
Registration is now open for the sixth annual Reindeer Run 5K. The event will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, at 8 a.m. at Catfish Row Art Park on Levee Street, and is a fundraiser for Paws Rescue.

Runners and walkers are invited to bring their pets along for the fun. Postrace events include a pet parade, reindeer games for the kids and adult beverages.

The registration fee is 435 for the 5K run and walk before Nov. 23, and $15 for the Reindeer Dash children’s 1-mile fun run. If you’d rather skip the run but get the T-shirt and support Paws Rescue, that option is available for $25.
