6 indicted on murder charges in Warren County

A Warren County Grand Jury this week has returned six indictments on murder charges relating to two separate incidents.
Carolyn Mansfield and Albert Thomas were both indicted for murder- depraved heart in the death of Ernest Gleese on Feb. 2. The indictment states that Mansfield and Thomas “did feloniously, willfully and unlawfully kill and murder Ernest Gleese … by setting fire to his home while he was inside the home.”
In the indictment, “depraved heart murder” is defined as “an act eminently dangerous to others and evincing depraved heart, regardless of human life although without any premeditated design to effect the death of any particular individual.”
The second indictment for murder included four people. Zachery Terrell Bryant, Perrion Johnson, Patrick Jacobe Ross and John Earl Wallace Jr. were indicted for one count each of murder, drive-by shooting and shooting into a building. They face three counts each for aggravated assault. Bryant was also charged with possession of a weapon after a felony conviction. According to the indictment, Bryant has a previous conviction for possession of a weapon after felony conviction in 2016.
The incident involving Bryant, Johnson, Ross and Wallace occurred on July 18, 2023. They are accused of deliberately causing the death of Preston Wilson Jr. by shooting him with a firearm.
Trial dates for all Grand Jury indictments are pending.
