Douglas Fairbanks was seen in “Mixing In” at the Alamo Theater. • Dr C.O. Groves, of Kosciusko, started a religious meeting at the Presbyterian church.

Tilford Holler and Regina Duncan were married. • Henry Burger died. • Mrs. R.L. Morgan returned from a visit to Arkansas.

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Colmery planned a trip to visit their son, Lt. Ben Colmery Jr., with the U.S. Navy.

Mrs. Mollie Harris returned home after an extended visit with relatives in Arizona and California.

Rolling Fork defeated the St. Aloysius Flashes 20-0; Corinth beat Cooper High School 25-21.

Carol Ramsey was crowned homecoming queen at Warren Central High School, as the Vikings defeated Magee 16-0.

40 YEARS AGO: 1984

Mrs. Winnie Martin died.

Customers of the troubled T&J Utility heard from the Mississippi Public Service Commission about what could happen if a buyer was not found for the sewage collection and disposal company.

A man accused of malicious mischief was in jail after a bulldozer plowed through the church of a congregation that met in a mobile home on U.S. 80.
