Robert E. Redditt III

Robert E. Redditt, III passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12. A visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 15, at Glenwood Funeral Home from 9 to 11 a.m. with a service following.
Born on April 26, 1945, Robert was a lover of life and assisting others. Throughout a 40-plus-year career at Yazoo Valley EPA, he touched hundreds of lives and never once hesitated to be there in others’ time of need. A pillar of the community that was always eager to give you the shirt off his back as he wears it. He loved to hunt, fish, garden and fellowship with tractor club members. If we didn’t know better, we would swear his blood was John Deere green, for Ford, John Deere and coveralls were the models by which all others were measured. A smile would lighten Oakridge when his grandchildren and great-grandchildren arrived for a visit. He was a man that instilled quality, perfection, commitment and love.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Ray Redditt, who he married on June 21, 1963; his sons, Richard “Ricky”(Bettye), Marion “Shane;” his grandchildren, Marcy (Jason), Marion (Susie); his great-grandchildren, Brantley, Jenna, Shayna, Trivette, Connie, Brittany; and his sister, Joyce Redditt McGuffie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E Redditt Jr.; his mother, Ruth P Redditt; and his brother, Edward Morrell Redditt Sr.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Ward, Jimmy Wayne Pettis, Charles Pettway, Jason Carson, Reece Herring and Josh Nordquist. Honorary Pallbearers are Eddie Henry, Calvin Hearn, Glen Worthy, Jimmy Vincent, Yazoo Valley employees and retirees, and the members of Vicksburg-Warren Antique and Classic Tractor Club.
