David Byron Jones

Dr. David Byron Jones, 71, of Utica, Mississippi, and a native of Vicksburg, passed away at home Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Jones was a respected and compassionate licensed professional counselor who dedicated his career to providing individual, couples, and family therapy through his private practice in Ridgeland, Mississippi. He was also affiliated with Three Oaks Behavioral Health. He held both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology from Mississippi State University, and later earned a second master’s degree, as well as a PhD in counseling, from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his dedication to helping others, and the profound impact he made on his family, friends, and in the lives of those he served.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Janie Harper Jones and Udelle Truett Jones.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dr. Lori Fulton; two daughters, Natalie Jones Davis (Michael) and Emily Jones; and his two grandchildren, Michael and Henry Davis.

A celebration of life will be held in Raymond, Mississippi at Wright and Ferguson Thursday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Stewpot Ministries and Habitat for Humanity in his honor.
