Warren Central alum Hall named MACCC Player of the Year

Trey Hall was above them all in the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference this season.
The Mississippi Gulf Coast running back and Warren Central alum was named the MACCC South Division Offensive Player of the Year, the league announced Wednesday.
Hall, a sophomore, was one of five Gulf Coast players on the All-MACCC South first team. He ran for 1,098 yards in 10 games, and ranks third in the NJCAA with 109.8 yards per game.
Hall had 13 rushing touchdowns, second-most in the MACCC, and his 7.4 yards per carry ties the school record for a season. He had five 100-yard games, and two others with at least 90 yards. He scored a touchdown in seven games.
In two seasons with the Bulldogs he rushed for 1,981 yards and 20 touchdowns, and also caught 20 passes for 137 yards and one TD.
Other Gulf Coast players on the All-MACCC first team were wide receiver JP Coulter, offensive lineman Mikyal Trotter, defensive lineman Javen Gibson and linebacker Montrell Chapman.
Hinds Community College had three players on the first team — offensive lineman Saquon Miles, defensive lineman Devarrick Woods and defensive back Walter Owens. Wide receiver Tyrell Pollard was on the second team, while receiver Demar Gardner, offensive lineman Cameron Williams and linebacker TJ Kelly were on the honorable mention list.
Northwest Mississippi running back D’mariun Perteet was the North Division Offensive Player of the Year. He has rushed for 1,241 yards and 16 touchdowns. He ranks second in the NJCAA in touchdown and yards per game (112.9).
Itawamba defensive back Dylan Rowsey (North) and Jones College defensive lineman Kelten Mickell (South) won their respective division’s Defensive Player of the Year awards.
East Mississippi kick returner Chasden Collins (North) and Jones kicker Christian Baglione (South) were the Special Teams Players of the Year.
Northwest Mississippi’s Benjy Parker and East Central’s Jonathan Webster were the Coaches of the Year. Northwest beat East Central 34-7 in the MACCC championship game on Nov. 16.
