Warren Central alum Jack Wright was part of Northwest Mississippi’s 34-7 win over East Central CC in the MACCC football championship game on Nov. 16.

Wright, a quarterback, served as the holder on field goals and PATs this season.

No. 4 Northwest Mississippi (10-1) won the 12th conference title in the program’s history, and third in five seasons. It is now waiting to see if it has earned a spot in the four-team NJCAA playoffs.

Northwest has won three NJCAA national championships, in 1982, 1992 and 2015. The Rangers have qualified for the four-team national playoff twice since it was started in 2021, but were eliminated in the semifinals in 2021 and 2022.
