On Dec. 6, St. Aloysius’ John Ellis Montgomery, Thompson Fortenberry and Clark Hobson will play in the Class 3A/4A All-Star Game at Jackson Prep. Kickoff is at 3 p.m., and will be followed by the Class 5A/6A All-Star Game at 5 p.m.

Simms, Johnston and Slayton will play for the White team, and Jung for the Blue.

Simms, Johnston and Slayton were PCA’s top three tacklers on defense and also served as lead blockers for Jung’s record-setting rushing season.

Simms led PCA with 81 tackles, seven tackles for loss and one interception. Johnston had 80 tackles, along with seven sacks and 11 tackles for loss. Slayton finished with 71 tackles, seven sacks and 11 tackles for loss.

Jung was also a standout on defense, with 70 tackles and six interceptions, but was an unstoppable force on offense.

The senior rushed for 3,712 yards and 48 touchdowns — both single-season Warren County records — and passed for 395 yards and five touchdowns.

Jung also set the Warren County records for career rushing yards (6,422) and rushing touchdowns (87).

MAIS Class 1A champion Briarfield Academy will have four players in the Class 1A/2A game — running back/linebacker Ryder Jones, quarterback Brock Johnson, defensive back Jack Martin and lineman Calvin Barnes.

Briarfield’s Beau Travis will serve as the head coach for the Blue team, with Tallulah Academy’s Ryan Williams on his staff as an assistant.

St. Al will send its kicker Montgomery, lineman Hobson, and linebacker/running back Fortenberry to the Class 3A/4A game after they helped the Flashes reach the second round of the Class 4A playoffs this season. All three will play for the Blue team in the all-star game.

Montgomery made four field goals, with a long of 45 yards, and 13 PATs this season.

Hobson played on both the offensive and defensive lines. He finished with 40 tackles.

Fortenberry has been a two-way starter for the Flashes for four years. He had 613 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior, while also leading the team with 94 tackles.

Fortenberry finished his high school career with 2,093 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy assistant John Weaver, a Vicksburg native, will serve as the head coach for the Blue team in the Class 5A/6A game.

Another Vicksburg native, John Baker of Greenville-St. Joseph, will be the head coach of the Gray team for the Futures Game that will be played on Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at MRA. The Futures Game is for juniors, and the other all-star games feature current seniors.
