Malcolm Butler, former NFL star and Super Bowl hero, is once again using his platform to give back to the community.
This holiday season, the athlete known for wearing No. 21 has chosen to make a difference by providing 21 families in need with turkeys and gift cards, ensuring they have a warm and joyful holiday season.
Butler, who rose to national prominence with his pivotal interception in Super Bowl XLIX, has always been a champion off the field as well, officials with the United way of West Central Mississippi said.
“Throughout his career, he has been committed to giving back and making a positive impact on the lives of others. The number 21, which Butler has worn with pride throughout his career, has become a symbol not just of athletic achievement, but of compassion and generosity. This year, Butler’s holiday initiative is centered around helping local families in need. In keeping with the significance of the number 21, he is providing 21 families with turkeys and gift cards to ensure they can celebrate the season in comfort and with hope.”
The donations are aimed at easing the financial burden of the holidays and spreading a message of community, care, and connection.
Butler said he has always believed in using his platform to help others, and this year he wanted to make the holiday season special for families who may need a little extra support.
“Butler’s philanthropic efforts are an extension of his long-standing commitment to community service,” United Way officials said. “He continues to inspire fans and individuals alike with his actions, reminding us all that true success is measured by the positive difference we make in the lives of others.”
