On defense, Warren Central linemen Ronnie Blossom and Larry Reynolds, along with linebacker Gavin Davenport, were selected. Vicksburg’s DeCorey Knight Jr. was picked as a kick returner, which was included with the defensive list.

Knight and Edmond worked well as a team. With Edmond helping to clear holes, Knight rushed for 1,169 yards and six touchdowns, and in the process broke Vicksburg High’s record for career rushing yards that had stood for 45 years.

Knight also caught 24 passes for 442 yards and four touchdowns to become the only player in Warren County history with more than 3,000 career rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards. He was also a dangerous kick returner, with three touchdowns on punt and kickoff returns.

Knight will play in the Bernard Blackwell Mississippi All-Star Game on Dec. 21 in Gulfport.

Warren Central’s three defensive All-State players were part of a unit that posted two shutouts and allowed 7.3 points per game in its last eight outings. The trio combined for 82 tackles for loss, 25 sacks and eight takeaways.

Blossom was the Vikings’ leading tackler, with 96, and also had 26 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks and three fumble recoveries. Reynolds had 81 tackles, a team-high 39 tackles for loss, three fumble recoveries and four forced fumbles. Each had one interception.

Davenport finished with 77 tackles to rank third on the team. He also had four sacks and 17 tackles for loss.

On offense, Lynch finished the season with 42 receptions for 459 yards and three touchdowns while playing both tight end and receiver.

For his career, Lynch wound up with 105 receptions for 1,358 yards, which are both school records. The senior is one of only five Warren County players to amass 100 or more career receptions and ranks third on the all-time list.

Artman, a junior, converted 10 of 12 field goal attempts and 44 of 47 PAT tries.

Artman also broke the Warren County record for most career field goals that had stood since 1985. He has 27 in three varsity seasons.

Blossom and Lynch will both play in the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Game Dec. 14 in Mobile, Alabama.

Another person with Warren County ties was also recognized on the All-State lists. West Point’s Brett Morgan, a Warren Central alum, was the Class 5A Coach of the Year after guiding the Green Wave to the 13th state championship in school history.

Morgan is in his first year as West Point’s head coach after spending the previous 14 on the staff as an assistant.
