Voting is open in The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week contest.

This week’s nominees are basketball players Anthony McCloud (St. Aloysius), Jaylon Winters (Warren Central), and Korvin Finch (Porter’s Chapel); and Vicksburg High soccer player Trinity McGloster.

Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline.

Anthony McCloud, a junior with St. Aloysius’ boys basketball team, scored 30 points each in wins over Prairie View and Tri-County. He had 30 points and nine rebounds in a 67-50 win over Prairie View on Dec. 9, and 30 points and 10 rebounds in a 78-70 win over Tri-County on Dec. 13.

Trinity McGloster, a senior, helped Vicksburg High’s girls soccer team to three victories last week by scoring eight goals. She had three in an 11-1 win vs. Riverside on Dec. 9, and five in a 7-0 shutout of Morton on Dec. 10.

Jaylon Winters, a senior with Warren Central’s boys basketball team, averaged 11.3 points per game in three wins. Winters had 11 points in a 57-44 win over Murrah on Dec. 10, and 16 in a 78-53 tour of Port Gibson on Dec. 13.

Korvin Finch, a freshman with Porter’s Chapel Academy’s boys basketball team, scored 13 points in a 57-30 victory against Franklin Academy on Dec. 10.

Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline. The winner will be announced Wednesday on vicksburgpost.com and then be featured in our Friday print edition.
