St. Aloysius’ Anthony McCloud is The Post’s Athlete of the Week

Anthony McCloud is sky high as the latest Vicksburg Post Athlete of the Week.
The St. Aloysius basketball player received 3,111 of the 4,070 votes cast in an online poll of The Post’s readers to win this week’s award in a one-sided rout.
Warren Central basketball player Jaylon Winters received 655 votes to finish a distant second. Vicksburg High soccer player Trinity McGloster was third, with 393 votes, and Porter’s Chapel Academy basketball player Korvin Finch finished fourth.
McCloud, a senior, scored 30 points each in wins over Prairie View and Tri-County. He had 30 points and nine rebounds in a 67-50 win over Prairie View on Dec. 9, and 30 points and 10 rebounds in a 78-70 win over Tri-County on Dec. 13.
McCloud has six double-doubles this season and is averaging 19.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game for the Flashes (9-4).
