An unidentified man was struck by a vehicle on Gibson Road just before 6 p.m. Thursday, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Pace said a call was placed to 911 at approximately 5:45 p.m. Thursday by a motorist. Pace said the motorist alerted authorities of the belief their car had struck a pedestrian on Gibson Road, between the Greenbriar subdivision and Halls Ferry Road.

Pace said the man suffered multiple injuries and was taken to University of Mississippi Medical Center via Vicksburg Fire Department ambulance.

Pace said the incident remains under investigation and more information will be made available as it is released and when it is appropriate to do so.
