No one injured in Friday-night structure fire

A structure fire that broke out Friday night on Jefferson Circle was quickly controlled by Vicksburg Fire Department, Fire Cheif Derrick Stamps said.

“At approximately 8:31 p.m., the Vicksburg Fire Department responded promptly to a reported structure fire at 270 Jefferson Circle,” Stamps said. “Upon arrival, crews discovered flames and smoke coming from the rear of the building.”

Stamps said crews worked quickly to put out the fire and no injuries were reported.

“Without hesitation, the firefighters executed a well-coordinated interior attack to combat the blaze. They moved swiftly and efficiently, navigating through the intense heat and smoke. Their actions significantly suppressed the fire, minimizing damage to the structure and protecting the surrounding area.”

The origin of the fire remains under investigation.
