Vicksburg man arrested in Madison Parish homicide case

A Vicksburg man has been taken into custody for murder in Madison Parish after a death Thursday was ruled to be a homicide.

Louisiana State Police (LSP) announced it would be investigating the homicide of a 35-year-old white female that took place Thursday on Byson Road in Madison Parish.

“At approximately 3:25 p.m., Louisiana State Police Detectives-Monroe Field Office (LSP MFO) were requested by the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office (MPSO) to investigate a homicide,” LSP officials said. “Initial findings from the investigation revealed an incident occurred in the 500 block of Byson Road, which resulted in one person being pronounced deceased. LSP MFO will serve as the lead investigating agency, with MPSO assisting. The investigation remains active and ongoing. No further information is available at this time.”

According to information from MPSO, two Vicksburg natives were living at the residence and were involved in an argument, which led to the female resident being physically assaulted by 34-year-old Nathan Kirkley.

Krkley was taken into custody at the scene and has been charged with second-degree murder. He is being held at the Madison Parish Jail on a $350,000 bond.
