Frances Pearline Williams (lovingly known as Mama, Momma, Mema, Dear, and, of course, Miss Pearline) passed away peacefully on Jan. 13, 2025, at the age of 94 in Missouri City, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on Oct. 22, 1930, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, she was the daughter of RT and Ardenia Miller. Miss Pearline (as she would quickly correct many shortly after they met) lived a long and fulfilling life marked by love, devotion, commitment to her family, and service to others.
She is survived by her sister, Beverly Gaskin, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and neices and nephews. She was preceded in everlasting life by her parents, RT and Ardenia; her husband of 67 years, Tommie Lee Williams, Sr.; her sisters, Coretha Miller, Roberta Jordan, and Delores Hemphill; and brother, Ernest Jackson.
The wake service will be held on Friday, Jan. 24 from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. at Jefferson Funeral Home at 800 Monroe St. The celebration of Frances’s life will be held at King David Missionary Baptist Church, No. 1, on Leticia Street on Jan. 25, 2025 at 11 a.m. with a 10 a.m. viewing. A repass will be held at King David following internment.
Miss Pearline leaves behind a legacy of love for all, insurmountable strength, and resilience in the face of adversity. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. To God be the Glory, for the things he has done!
