A big game from their big guy was not enough to lift the St. Aloysius Flashes to victory Friday.
Anthony McCloud finished with 29 points and six rebounds, but the Flashes lost 84-63 to Copiah Academy.
Carson Henderson had 12 points and seven rebounds for St. Al (11-8, 0-2 MAIS District 4-5A), Carson Gleese scored nine points and Laken Bradley had six.
St. Al dropped its first two district games, and will have two more next week. The Flashes play at home Tuesday at 6 p.m. vs. Cathedral, and Jan. 24 against Adams County Christian School.
St. Al’s scheduled road game at River Oaks on Monday has been canceled because of the threat of snow and hazardous travel conditions.
In Friday’s junior varsity boys game, Dru Gleese scored nine points and Evan Mallard had eight rebounds but Copiah beat St. Al 31-22.
