Passing the gavel: New chairman, board members and Ambassador of the Year named at annual luncheon

Wednesday’s annual Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce meeting brought with it the changing of leadership for the new year as outgoing Chairman A.J. “Buddy” Dees officially passed the gavel to Vicksburg Warren School District Director of Career and Technical Education Dr. Terence James.

“A heartfelt thank-you goes to A.J. “Buddy” Dees for his exceptional leadership during 2024,” chamber officials said.

The Chamber also expressed gratitude to outgoing board members Lori Burke, Elizabeth Nelson, Randy Jolly, and Steve Elwart for their dedication and service. As part of his first official duties as chamber chairman, James welcomed new board members Robyn Lea, David Fox, and Gregory Thomas.

“The Chamber looks forward to continued growth and collaboration under the leadership of Dr. James and the new board,” chamber officials said following Wednesday’s meeting. “Together, they aim to build on the strong foundation laid by past leaders while advancing the mission of supporting businesses and the community in Vicksburg-Warren County.”

Also recognized during the meeting was Alice Hebler, the 2024 Ambassador of the Year.
