The City of Vicksburg will kick off its 2025 bicentennial celebration Wednesday – the anniversary of the River City’s incorporation 200 years ago – but officials say a few changes have been made to the previously announced lineup of events.
Below is the schedule for Wednesday’s kickoff celebration, along with events lasting Saturday, with the notable change of the parade now taking place completely inside the Vicksburg Convention Center (VCC) due to the chance of inclement weather. Originally, the parade was slated to pass through downtown, including passing through the VCC as part of the official route, giving parade-goers the option of taking part in an indoor parade for the first time in Vicksburg.
Events scheduled for this week include:

City Auditorium (free). RSVP on Facebook
○ 5 p.m. Bicentennial Parade (free). Moved inside the Vicksburg Convention Center; Celebrate the City’s 200th birthday with some special birthday cake immediately afterwards. RSVP on Facebook
