The Vicksburg Warren School District (VWSD) has announced it will join the nationwide celebration of Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month® February. CTE Month highlights the vital role that career and technical education programs play in preparing students for success in college, careers, and beyond, VWSD officials said.

“Throughout February, VWSD will showcase the outstanding opportunities available through its CTE programs,” officials said. “These programs provide students hands-on learning experiences, industry certifications, and pathways to high-demand careers. From engineering and health sciences to information technology and skilled trades, students in VWSD’s CTE programs are gaining the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in today’s workforce.”

“Our CTE programs empower students with real-world experience, equipping them with the tools to succeed in their future careers,” Director of Career and Technical Education Dr. Terence James said. “By providing hands-on learning and industry-aligned training, we are preparing our students to be career-ready and competitive in a rapidly evolving job market.”

– Industry Partner Visits – Strengthening relationships between local businesses and students to provide internship and job-shadowing opportunities.
– Hands-On Demonstrations and Open Houses – Allowing students, parents, and community members to explore VWSD’s CTE programs firsthand.

VWSD officials said the district encourages students, parents, and community members to take part in CTE Month by learning more about the district’s career pathways and how they contribute to student success.
