Jack Canizaro announced as a candidate for floater senator from Warren and Hinds counties.

Mildred Mercier of Corinth Joined the faculty of Bowmar Avenue School.

Dr. James Kiely and Alex Brunini were visiting New Orleans.

The title of master watchmaker was awarded to Herbert McAlpin.

Stan Kline was named chairman of the Warren County Heart Fund Drive for 1975.

S.O. Jones, a retired salvage dealer, told the story of “Big Woman,” the 20-year-old landmark on U.S. Highway 80.

Vicksburg Street Department employees worked to demolish the fountain at Washington and Crawford streets. 

20 YEARS AGO: 2005

Both Vicksburg Catholic School Principal Paul Pikul and Assistant Principal Ann Wheeles announced they would retire at the end of the shool year. 

10 YEARS AGO: 2015

Local business owner Johnny Beauchamp entered the race for supervisor in Warren County’s District 1.
