Voting is open in The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week contest. This week’s nominees are soccer players Corbin Burroughs (St. Aloysius) and Trinity McGloster (Vicksburg); Schaffer Bell (Porter’s Chapel basketball); and Sydney Sullivan (Warren Central tennis).

Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline.

Trinity McGloster, a senior with Vicksburg High’s girls’ soccer team, scored a total of five goals and assisted on another in wins over Columbus and Forest Hill. Vicksburg won both games 7-0.

Corbin Burroughs, a senior with St. Aloysius’ boys’ soccer team, had a goal and an assist in a 3-2 win vs. Bayou Academy on Jan. 28. The Flashes clinched a berth in the MAIS Division playoffs with the victory.

Sydney Sullivan, a junior with Warren Central’s tennis team, won all three of her matches at the HS City Classic preseason tournament on Feb. 1. Sullivan teamed with Lillian Feibelman for two girls’ doubles victories, and with Brady Taylor to win a mixed doubles match.

Schaffer Bell, a junior with Porter’s Chapel Academy’s boys’ basketball team, had three double-doubles in three games last week. Bell had 20 points and 12 rebounds against Central Holmes; 18 points and 11 rebounds vs. River Oaks; and 14 points and 10 rebounds against Hillcrest Christian.

Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline. The winner will be announced Wednesday on vicksburgpost.com and then featured in our Friday print edition.
